Nine Bridges Golf Korea
Nine Bridges is the best golf course in South Korea and is also the most prestigious, granting only limited access to the desiring hordes. Those lucky enough to secure a tee time will be enchanted by the combination of the course’s design and the sheer beauty of the surrounding landscape.
Separated from the mainland of the Korean peninsula is Jeju Island, a volcanic mass that serves as the leisure retreat for the working masses of Seoul. Under the shadow of Mount Halla, South Korea’s highest peak, Nine Bridges is an unorthodox fusion of style created by the Golf Plan design association. Architects Ronald Fream and David Dale were at pains to create a course with a definite Scottish influence, but the resultant course would be more at home in Florida.
There are few more aesthetically pleasing golf courses than Nine Bridges, which is bordered by magnificent flora and foliage, but the quality of the championship course should not be underestimated. Since opening in 2001, Nine Bridges has leapt to the forefront of golf in South Korea and is, without doubt, one of the world’s most fascinating destinations.
